Description
Taylor – Simple Studies On Trombone Technique is a music book composed by a trombonist specifically for trombone students. It aims to develop trombone technique, taking into account the unique challenges posed by the slide, which differ from those faced by other brass instruments. The book consists of tuneful studies that have been carefully crafted with young trombonists in mind. It avoids including notes in 7th position, which may be difficult for young players to reach, and minimizes awkward slide shifts to maintain a smooth musical flow. All slurs in the book are natural, and a few alternative positions are introduced to facilitate their execution. Furthermore, the book contains studies that allow trombonists to practice glissandi, as well as exercises for developing slide technique and legato tonguing. The target audience for this book is trombonists working towards Grade 1 through to Grade 3, who can then progress to the more advanced “Melodic Studies on Trombone Technique” book. The author of the book is Adrian Taylor.
