Book one covers the basic approach to hand technique; stick grip, fulcrum, rebound, and accents; foot technique; phrase development; doubles and diddles; and Category 1, hand-to-hand, and straight sticking concepts.

Throughout the course, all the hand techniques, strokes, and rhythms are coupled with foot ostinatos to develop a strong set of playing skills that are applicable to all styles of music. 96 pages.

I had the honor and privilege to work with Ralph as he completed all the material contained in the series before his passing. Playing Techniques contains 179 video demonstrations by Ralph. The videos are informal, full of incredible advice and playing and feel like you are sitting in class or a private lesson with him. Ralphs final wish is for everyone to have access to this curriculum, and he was so honored to partner with Hudson Music and Drum Channel to make this a reality.
